Guidelines and Requirements

One of the requirements of the Political Science major is the senior essay. Also, a passing grade on the essay is necessary for graduation. Your are responsible for familiarizng yourself, before undertaking your project, with the relevant guidelines and requirements. That information -- and more -- is here:

Suggested Agreement

To help clarify your responsibilities and expectations in this process and create a schedule of meetings and drafts, click here for a suggested agreement that you and your advisor can use. Please note that you are not required to use this agreement. You and your advisor are free to adapt it to your own preferences.

Deadlines

Seniors planning to write a one–semester Essay in the Fall semester must submit a Fall Senior Essay Prospectus form signed by the faculty member who has agreed to advise the Essay, by September 14, 2011.

The due date for one–semester Senior Essays written in the fall semester is 4:00 p.m. on December 2, 2011.

Seniors planning to write a one–semester Essay in the Spring semester must submit a Spring Senior Essay Prospectus form signed by the faculty member who has agreed to advise the Essay by January 17, 2012.

The due date for two–semester Essays and one–semester Essays written in the Spring semester is 4:00 p.m. on April 16, 2012.
