Telecommunications device for the deaf
Hearing and speech impaired people who have Telecommunication devices for deaf/text telephones have access to Telecommunication Relay Services (TRS). TRS facilitates telephone conversations between people who do and those who do not have hearing or speech disabilities.
TRS provides full telephone accessibility to people who are deaf, hard of hearing or speech disabled. Specially trained communication assistants complete all calls and stay on-line to relay messages either electronically over a text telephone or verbally to hearing parties.
The service is available 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, with no restrictions on the length or number of calls placed.
To access this service, dial 9-711.
