Make a Call |
|
Lift handset or press the Speakerphone button
and wait for a dial tone. Dial the telephone number you wish to
call. If you have a display telephone, the number will appear on the display window. |

Answer a Call |
|
Lift handset or press the Speakerphone
button. Hang
up the handset or press Speakerphone button to end conversation.
|
2210 and 2211 sets |
|
If Caller ID feature is activated:
When the telephone is not in use and a new call is received, the
display will show the NEW symbol (2210 set only), the phone number and time and date of the call. The RPT (repeat)
symbol will appear if the call has come in more than once (2210 set only). After
16-20 seconds with no activity, the display will default to the Stand-by
screen and remain on until another call is received or a button
is pressed. This will show you the total number of calls stored
and how many new calls that have not been reviewed. |

Call Transfer allows you
to transfer any internal or outside call to any extension within
our telephone system |
To Activate |
With first party on the line, Press Flash.
After or outside call to hearing the special dial tones, dial extension
number. When third party answers announce call, hang up (call is
transferred automatically). If you receive no answer, busy signal
or misdial, Press Flash to be reconnected to party. |
** Conference allows you to establish a conference for up to 6 people including
yourself. |
To Activate |
With first party on the line, Press Flash.
After hearing the special dialtone, dial the second party. Talk
in private. Continue until all parties are connected. When you are ready to let first party into the conversation,
Press Flash again, speak to first party (all telephones
are connected). If you received no answer, busy signal or misdial,
Press Flash to be reconnected to party. |

To Activate |
With first party on the line, Press Flash.
After hearing the special dialtone, dial 115 (you will hear a second confirmation tone). Dial the second party. Talk
in private. Continue until all parties are connected. When you are ready to let first party into the conversation,
Press Flash again, speak to first party (all telephones
are connected). If you received no answer, busy signal or misdial,
Press Flash to be reconnected to party.
Note: dial 115 only after depressing FLASH for the first time. |

Consultation allows you
to consult in private with a third party either within or outside
our system. |
To Activate |
With first party on the line, Press Flash.
After hearing the special dialtone, dial the third party. After
speaking in private, third party hangs up (you will be connected
automatically to the original party.) If you receive no answer busy
signal or misdial, Press Flash to be reconnected
to party. |

Mute |
|
Press Mute to speak without
the person on the phone hearing your conversation. The Mute Indicator will light up and remain LIT until you resume your conversation.
To resume your conversation, press Mute. The Mute indicator will go out and your call can continue. |

Automatic Memory |
|
|
To Store a Number |
|
You must lift handset first. Press Store button. Dial telephone number (15 digit maximum) to store
in memory. Press Store again.
Press desired auto memory button.
Note: The memory locations can be chained together to dial numbers
of longer length.
Use pull out memory index to write in name and the memory button
where it is stored. |
To Dial a Number |
|
Lift handset. Press any memory button. |
Permanent Hold enables you to place caller on hold. |
To Activate |
With caller on the line, Press Flash.
After hearing. the special dial tone, dial #4. Hang up. your call
is now on hold. Your phone rings intermittently to remind you.
If your telephone has a hold button: With
caller on the line Press the Hold button. Hang
up. The Hold indicator will light and remain LIT
until you resume your conversation
To Return to Holding
Party Lift handset |

Ring Again/Call back allows
you to be automatically called back when a busy internal number
becomes “free”. |
To Activate |
Press Flash, hear special
dial tone, dial 141, hear regular dialtone, hang
up. |

To Respond |
Hear short bursts of ringing. Lift handset
(number is automatically dialed). |

To Cancel |
Lift handset. Dial 142.
Hear regular dial tone. Hang up. |
|
*Call Pick-Up allows you
to answer any ringing telephone in your call pick-up group. |
To Activate |
Lift handset and dial 143.
Announce yourself (you are automatically connected to the incoming
call). If you hear a normal busy signal, the call has already been
answered. If a fast busy signal is heard, the ringing telephone
is not in your call pick-up group, and you cannot answer the call |
Call Forward
All automatically forwards calls made to your extension
to another extension within your phone system. |
To Activate |
First obtain approval of party to whom you
wish to forward your calls. Lift handset, dial #1.
After hearing regular dial tone, dial telephone number to which
calls will be forwarded.
Replace handset. Remember to cancel Call Forward when you
return to your desk. |

*Message Waiting indication
of Voice Mail |
To Respond |
When you have a voice mail message the Message indicator will light or you will hear stutter dialtone when you lift the handset or press Speakerphone. Dial the Voice
Mail Access Number to retrieve message(s) from Voice Mail
Service. Once you have retrieved the
voice mail message the Message indicator will go
off. |
|
Last Number Redial allows
the last number dialed by a user to be automatically stored. Only
one number may be stored at any one time. A new number dialed will
override the previously stored number. |
To Activate |
Lift handset and press 1489 or the redial
button. The telephone number last called is redialed automatically. |
|
Adjust Volume |
|
|
Handset: A built-in amplifier feature
allows you to increase the listening volume in the receiver of the
handset when speaking with your party. |
To Activate |
2203 & 2210 Sets: Press the Volume button
to achieve three different levels. The volume will go back to default
after you hang up the handset.
2211 Set: Press the Volume button to achieve four different levels. The volume remains the same between calls. It does not return to a nominal level. |

The Pause button allows you to insert

Press Pause button once and release
at any point where a pause is desired. The Pause button can be pressed
more than once to create a longer pause. |
Headset
Instructions (Cortelco 2203 only) |
|
Plug headset base into handset jack on side
of phone. Plug handset cord into headset base. Remove plastic memory
plate on face of telephone and set the DIP Switch accordingly:
DIP Switch 1 off (down)
DIP Switch 2 off (down)
DIP Switch 3 on (up)
DIP Switch 4 off (down)
To answer or make a call, depress handsfree button. This button
will be used in place of handset

Caller ID Display (for 2210 and 2211 sets with Caller ID activated) |
ERROR |
The display indicates [-ERROR-] if your
unit receives a call that has an error in the transmission or reception. |
|
NO DATA SENT |
[-NO DATA SENT-] will be displayed if there
is no caller ID number sent from the telephone company. |
|
PRIVATE CALLS |
If the caller has exercised the option to
block his number, name or both from being sent, [PRIVATE NUMBER,
PRIVATE NAME, OR PRIVATE CALLER] will display on the screen. |

UNKNOWN CALLS |
When the telephone company is unable to
provide information of the caller’s telephone number, name,
or both, [UNKNOWN NUMBER, UNKNOWN NAME, UNKNOWN CALLER, OR UNAVAILABLE] will display
on the screen. |

Release Button (2211 Set Only) |
|
To end a conversation press the RELEASE button once |
|
Voice Mail Button (2211 Set Only) |
|
Press the VOICE MAIL button to dial the voicemail access number.
NOTE: To store the Voice Mail Number, press STORE. Then press the VOICE MAIL button. Enter the Voice Mail Number (2-8000). Press STORE again to save the number into memory. |

Reviewing Calls (for 2210 and 2211 sets with Caller ID activated) |
|
When the NEW symbol is on the
Stand-by screen, you have new incoming calls. Next to or above the NEW
symbol is the total number of new calls. Press the REVIEW
UP or REVIEW DOWN button to review the
incoming stored calls.

Storing a reviewed number (2210 Set Only) |
|
The reviewed number can be stored into any
of the auto memory buttons or keypad memory locations by pressing the
Store button first, then one of the memory buttons. |
|
Call Back While Reviewing Calls (2210 Set Only) |
|
When reviewing received calls, there are two ways to dial the telephone numbers shown on the Display by pressing Dial:
(1) With the handset on hook, press Dial [Pickup Phone…] will appear in the LCD display to ask you to pick up the handset. The number will be dialed after you pick up the handset.
(2) If you pick up the handset, review the calls, and press Dial, the displayed number will be dialed immediately. |
Deleting Calls |

To delete an individual call: |
|
When reviewing calls, you can delete an individual call by pressing and holding the Delete button once.
(2211 Set: Press Delete again to confirm the deletion. The display will be erased line by line and the rest of the records will be renumbered.) |
To delete all calls: |
|
When reviewing calls, you can delete all calls by pressing and holding Delete for more than 3 seconds. The [Delete All] will appear. Press Delete to confirm you really want to erase all records. [No Calls] or [Empty List] appears on the display to show there are no calls stored in memory. |

Automatic Memory |
|

To Store a Number |
|
2210 Set: Press the Store button. [Memory Storing] appears on the display window.
Dial the telephone number (15 digits maximum) to store in memory.
Press Store again. Press the desired memory location
2211 Set: Lift handset, Press Store button [Save To?] appears on the display window. Press the desired memory location. Dial the telephone number (24 digits maximum) to store in memory. Press Store again.
To store in an auto memory button (located on right-hand side of
base) Press 1, 2, 3...., or 10. To store in a keypad memory location
- Press one of the keypad buttons (1, 2, 3....or 0).
Note: The memory locations can be chained together to dial numbers
of longer length.
Use pull out memory index to write in name and the memory button
where it is stored. |
To Dial a Number in Memory |
|
Lift handset. Press any memory button.
To dial an auto memory button (located on right-hand side of base)
press the desired auto memory button (1, 2, 3…or 10). To dial
a keypad memory location – press the Mem Dial button first, and then the desired keypad button (1, 2, 3…or
0) |
|
Options Button (2210 Set Only) The Options Button allows you to change the format of the
displayed number. |
|
The available Options format
is:
7-digit: 7-digit telephone number.
10-digit: 3-digit area code + 7 digit
telephone number
11-digit: long distance code 1 + 3-digit
area code + 7 digit telephone number.
If a local call and its 7-digit number
is displayed: Pressing Options once will change
it to a 20-digit format (your area code + 7-digit number).
Pressing Options twice
will change it to an 11-digit number (1 + your area code + 7-digit
telephone number).
Pressing Options three
times will go back to the original 7-digit telephone number.
If a long distance call, and its 10-digit
number is displayed: Pressing Options once will
change it to an 11-digit number (1+ 3-digit area code + 7 digit
telephone number).
Pressing Options twice
will remove the 3-digit area code and change to display only
the 7-digit telephone number.
Pressing Options three times will go back to the
original 10-digit number. |

Headset Enable |
|
Plug headset base into headset jack on side
of phone. Move headset on/off switch on the right side of the phone
to the ON position. The Speakerphone button is
used to connect or disconnect from a call. Note: With the headset
switch turned to the On position, the speakerphone feature will
be disabled. |
