ITS platform testing service

Benefits

  • Reduces testing costs by running self-contained automated scripts.
  • Automated testing covers multiple application technologies and platforms.
  • Enables higher reusability and reduced effort during maintenance.
  • Automated test cases based on the design of the business processes result in higher reuse of scripts.
  • Upon confirmation of test requirements, test automation can be conducted concurrently with preparation of manual test cases.
  • Allows frequent releases of applications by reducing the maintenance effort without compromising the quality of testing.

Faculty and staff are eligible.

Support

Included

  • Quality Control and Release Management (QCRM) specialist to review application
  • QCRM resource to execute scripts
  • Development and review of application platform test cases
  • Automation of repeatable test cases (our standard automation tool is Quick Test Pro)
  • Migration of test scripts from Platform A to Platform B
  • Analysis report including pass/fail status of test cases
  • Analysis report including identification of discovered defects
  • Some test cases cannot be automated.  In those instances, a manual test case can be created.
  • Testing of the following platforms
    • Yale image of XP SP3 IE7
    • Yale image of XP SP3 IE8
    • Yale image of Windows 7 IE8
    • Additional platforms accepted upon review

Not included

  • Issue resolution (defects will identified and noted in Analysis report)
  • Platform testing of tablets or mobile devices

Assumptions

  • Test data provided
  • Stable application testing instance
  • Accounts and privileges provided

Cost

Cost estimate will be provided. Tasks identified within the estimate will be charged to the client provided PTAEO only after acceptance of estimate by the client.
