Hillary Taylor
I am interested in the interaction between elite and popular politics and the ways in which social and economic concerns shaped popular political culture in Early Modern Britain, particularly under the Early Stuarts. I plan to work with Keith Wrightson and Steve Pincus and to be involved in the History from Below reading group in my first year at Yale. As an undergraduate at Brown ('09) I worked on the anti-separatist propaganda of the early 1640s in an effort to better understand plebeian royalism during the Civil War.
